Giorgio Armani’s Fall 2013 Kaleidoscope Collection has recently pre-launched here in Hong Kong (at Chater House), and here are the swatches!
The lightings at the store aren’t too great for photos, so I took as many as I could.
For the Face & Eye Palettes, there are #1 Mystic Blue and #2 Venomous Green. The Face & Eye Palettes are breathtakingly gorgeous. It’s truly love at first sight. The first tier of both palettes is a blush, and they’re very shimmery on the pan before used. But once the shimmery overspray is gone, it’s much more subtle. The pinkish coral from #1 Mystic Blue is my favourite. The eyeshadows are beautiful, with a middle shade that transforms into another color after the overspray was removed. For #1 Mystic Blues, it transformed to a mysterious turquoise color.
I love this palette and that’s why I chose this between the two. The blush leaves a slight shimmery sheen, it’s not overwhelming at all once the overspray is removed. The shadows are of excellent quality, with the darkest color, which is a deep plum just slightly drying.
Same as #1 Mystic Blue, the blush from #2 Venomous Green also has a shimmery overspray. It’s lighter than the one from #1 Mystic Blue, and will be better suited for fairer skin. The shadows from #2 Venomous Green are beautiful, but to me are not as interesting or beautiful as the ones from Mystic Blues. The hidden color in the middle shade is a forest green which I am very tempted to own.The swatches here looked washed out under the lighting at the Giorgio Armani Beauty boutique, in reality, they are more intense. Nonetheless, the blush is a little too light for my taste even though I have a fairer skin tone than most people in Hong Kong. I suspect that it would take a few layers before it would show up nicely on my complexion. It gives a very pretty subtle sheen though.
The eyeshadows are of better quality than Mystic Blue, but once again, in my opinion, the colors are not as interesting.
The Eyes to Kill Silk eye shadows are some of my favorite eyeshadows of all time. Just look at the shades and you’ll know that these are must-haves! Too bad they’re limited editions though…30 Rose Popilla31 June Beetle32 Gold Hercule33 Scarab Violetta34 Blue Beetle35 Silver ChaferThe moment I swatched these, I was blown away. I love 30, 33 and 34 the most, and that’s why they’re my picks. At different angles these show up differently in terms of colors, almost like duo chromes.
Lastly are the lipsticks, which I didn’t purchase any. These are 6 new shades of Rouge d’Armani lipsticks 300, 409, 410, 610, 611 and 612. They’re glossy, moisturizing and pigmented. I gasped when I swatched 410, which is my favorite out of the 6. Too bad I don’t wear really red lipsticks, or else I don’t think I’d be able to put this down.If you’re interested in getting any of these items before August, you can head to Giorgio Armani Beauty boutique in Chater House. Otherwise, you’ll be able to find these at all Giorgio Armani counters in August.
